Allison - Ide Structural Engineers LLC developed a highly efficient structural system for this luxury condominium building.
The key structural element was the integration of the stair/elevator cores that resulted in a very high floor area efficiency ratio while still maintaining the structural integrity of the building. The lateral load resisting system of this building consisted of the interior tubular core combined with post tension flat plate perimeter column frame action. The required punching shear capacity of the slab was achieved by utilizing state of the art “stud rails” as developed by the University of Calgary, Canada.
The unique structural design allowed the Architect considerable freedom of design.
This project is an example of a successful design-build project where the close collaboration between the Developer, Contractor, Architect, and Structural Engineer resulted in the successful attainment of project goals and meeting project budget requirements.
